Tynewydd Fields Reviews

Fabulous, big comfy house. Amazing pool and hot tub too. Great location for exploring the local area. We would definitely come again.
Amanda
Lovely spacious house and garden we had a wonderful stay
We really enjoyed our stay here. The check in process was super easy, the owners were friendly and gave easy clear instructions for things like the hot tub etc. plenty of room and there were 10 of us staying and the disabled facilities made things a lot easier for our more elderly family members. It was quiet when we wanted peace, but only a short drive to local villages.
Andrew
We had an amazing 3 night stay to celebrate our sons 21st birthday. The party age ranged from 70 to 2 years old and everything in between. The house is very spacious so we never felt like we were on top of each other. It is beautifully decorated throughout with lovely touches with the photospictures. As it is December, we were overjoyed to see that the house had been decorated for Christmas too which was a really lovely touch. The big sofas in the lounge and fabulous hot tub made the weekend even more perfect. We all slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Pamela
The cottage itself is a fantastic size and accommodated 13 of us easy without it seeming like a squeeze at all. The pool table and football table were great additions for entertainment and the hot tub and spa pool were fantastic!!!! The facilities in the cottage were not short of anything and the seating out in the courtyard was fantastic. The cottage is in a perfect area, its lovely and peaceful but within a short drive to a variety of places. My gripes would be very slow and sporadic internet but we did expect that, we could not get the TV to work in the lounge, the kitchen tap was constantly dripping, some of the mattresses could do with being replaced and just some general TLC needed. However these things did not spoil the break and its a delightful place to stay. We would love the opportunity to return and the owners were super friendly.
We had a beautiful week stay at tynewydd fields. Our family aged between 64 and 12, also our 2 jack russell pups.. my teenagers enjoyed the gardens and the pools, I didn't hear im bored once. The house is very well equipped with everything you will need. Including hair dryers and hair straighteners. The kitchen is a lovely spacious area with seating for everyone to socialise. The area is beautiful but if you want to explore you will definitely need a car. The courtyard was a lovely private place to enjoy a bbq or an evening fire. My only issue is the gate that joins to the cottage next door could do with padlocking up when both cottages are occupied as we did have an incident of our neighbours keep opening the gate amd entering our private area, I was concerned as my dogs were free roaming out there. After explaining this to them they did eventually stop. This is no reflection on the hosts ray and Dawn who were lovely and helpful, wr will definitely be back soon
A great holiday cottage for large groups with children. There's plenty of outdoor space with activities to occupy them. In poor weather there is indoor games and hot tub and small pool. Beaches, coast walks and pubs all close by. A lovely relaxing place.
We had a lovely stay as a family of 13. Plenty of room for everyone, the kids loved the hot tub and pool and the space to play football, cricket and badminton. The owners were lovely and we can highly recommend the Feathers in Aberaeron for a meal. We also loved the visits from the dogs. Only few complaints, the chlorine in the hot tub was quite overpowering, quite a few of the dishes and plates were badly chipped and a lack of teaspoons. But we had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be back.
Andrew
A great stay overall. However, we did have a few issues. The electric went off and we were told it was because a key needed to be topped up. We couldnt get hold of anybody for a while but then it was resolved within around an hour. The oven doesnt heat quickly at all. This made our mealtimes very difficult as we were cooking for 13 people. The chlorine in the hot tub was extremely strong, everybody was coughing and eyes burning. We couldnt sit in there for very long which was a shame. Location and grounds were amazing. Children loved the play area.
We stayed here at the beginning of April to celebrate a few birthdays close together and it was perfect for 13 of us including 5 children. The house was a generous size and the grounds were perfect for the children. The pool and hot tub enhanced the stay. Loved the location, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. There were some things that needed attention but it certainly didnt ruin our holiday. The owners were responsive to any queries we had and an amazing time.
We had a great holiday in this well equipped Bungalow. The owners Ray Dawn and family were very helpful when we had a couple of issues which were quickly sorted . We would certainly recommend this property.
Great location and a house with facilities that catered for all.
Arrived Friday 30th August to find ground floor bedroom had not been split into a twin after requesting it, we did it ourselves. Tumble dryer not working, reported it! Asked for a towel change because we had no way of drying the one bath towel provided to each of us, the replacement towels were disgusting. Master bedroom shower leaked, flooded the bathroom and soaked the carpet, on Sunday it leaked through the ceiling of ground floor bedroom. Reported it! The ownerscaretakers inspected the damage and agreed that the showercubicle was in such a poor state it could not be used. We paid for an en suite but very inconveniently had to borrow other showers all week, it was very annoying and embarrassing. This problem was obviously an ongoing issue because on inspection of ground floor bedroom ceiling there was a hole and staining from it happening before. No internet all week! The grounds are in a very poor state, the decking area was unsafe, we did not use it! Grounds were covered in poop, dogschickens this should all be cleared before new holiday makers arrive, we literally had to carefully pick our way through it. The whole property needs a complete revamp! Broken tumble dryer! Broken shower! Broken chair in kitchen! No Internet!
We have just returned from a week in Tynewydd Fields and had a wonderful, multi generational holiday there. The house was large enough for us to get together but offered space for quiet time too. The children thoroughly enjoyed the outside entertainments, especially the dogs and egg collecting each morning. There is a big 'but' however. Based upon the price we had paid we expected the accommodation to be of a reasonably high standard, however that wasn't the case. The initial impression was that the outside needed some TLC. The garden area was overgrown, there was chicken dirt in front of the door and a neglected old caravan in the grounds. The decked patio area was in a poor state of repair we protected feet from a protruding screw with a large candle and the few seats provided were dirty and mismatched. The rubbish bins in the shed were overflowing with what appeared to be several weeks worth of rubbish. Inside, first impressions were positive good kitchen, lovely big sitting room and useful games room that we appreciated. Unfortunately the impressive TV was not working so we had to make do with connecting it to a laptop to get limited use. We reported this at the start of our stay, however nothing was done. The kitchen was well equipped, however the dishwasher rarely cleaned a full load. The bedrooms were where the standard of the accommodation was poorest. All the beds had poor mattresses which needing replacing and only two had mattress covers. This a basic hygiene requirement for rental properties. The bedding was very tired and looked as though it had been in use for several seasons. Also it would have been nice if the towels were decent quality and full size. One of the upstairs bedrooms had a broken velux blind so a towel was used to block out the light and its en suite was far from clean. Its light fitting was full of dead flies, there was no hot water in that room and the shower was dirty. Despite the disappointment in the 'sad' presentation we enjoyed our stay but think the owners need to be aware of the problems so they can be addressed. The property is in need of a real overhaul and some serious maintenance work if it is to live up to the expectations the price suggests.
Leanne
Perfect cottage for a group of people whether it be family or friends. We stayed for my mothers 60th and it was a fabulous weekend. Something for all ages with lots of things to do in the nearby area.
Patricia
Group aged from 10 years to 75. All thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Outside spaces were wonderful and weather kind enough to enjoy them fully. Selection of 'entertainment' pools, games, play area, etc well used and thoroughly enjoyed. Warmly greeted, by both humans and animals. Would love to return. Attention needed to appliances in the kitchen cooker hood not working, ovens temperamental, one faulty gas ring, dishwasher doesn't! Also greater number and selection of saucepans needed. Description in brochure mentions downstairs WC, sink. I am assuming this was sacrificed for the lift, but means that guests were using downstairs bedrooms' en suites. The above is not a formal complaint, more friendly advice. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
Deborah
Had a lovely time and it was so relaxing. Help was available if needed. Even with 7 adults, 6 children and a toddler, there was lots of space. The hot tub and spa swim was amazing. Definitely be back
Lorraine
Fabulous family weekend . . house more than coped with 14 of us with grandchildren ranging from 2 to 17 years. Hot tub, swim spa & garden was great. Owners Paul & Dawn couldn't have been more helpful, especially when one of our cars broke down on first morning ..resulting in recovery home at the end of our stay. They offered to sort a trailer to get it back, use of their car or minibus, lifts back & forth and even to stay on longer if needed together things sorted. Definitely be back in 2025
Katherine
Lovely big house, which was great as we were 8 adults. We all had our own space, and enjoyed facilities. It was great for us all to be under one roof, and join in with activities within the house.
Very helpful
Darren
Fantastic holiday and owners. Always available if needed. Will come again
Can not rate this place enough, lovely home and even lovelier people. Booking back on for sure! We were a gang of 10 and will be looking to booking the both properties next time and bring even more of us.
A great property and really friendly owners.
Great place for a multi generational family holiday. Made very welcome by the the owners and their dogs. Excellent facilities for anyone who may need help with mobility, there is a 2 person lift to 1st floor and 2 bedrooms have ensuite walk in showers. Easy parking and no steps indoors. Beautiful walks, bring your wellies to meet the horses and walk around the lakes. Kitchen has everything you'll need to create a feast to be enjoyed in the spacious dining room. Had wonderful evenings, enjoying supper together. We built a log fire most eves and enjoyed a film in the very comfortable and very huge lounge. Would
Louise
Tynewydd Fields was amazing. Just what we wanted for a group stay. The pool hot tub was perfect.
We had a lovely stay and had plenty of space for the full family, including young children and our dog, who loved playing with the owners dogs! There were just a few suggestions that we did have, the outdoor space was vast but the seating for a large group 9 of us was lacking, it would be nice if there was more seating on the decking area as well as a little bench or something in the children's play area for parents to sit at whilst watching their children ours were too young that we couldn't allow them outside without an adult. We also noticed how there was an area that we assume was an allotment, it would have been lovely if it was this! The smaller downstairs bedroom didn't have a full sized mirror which I know my grandma would have appreciated. We all loved the jacuzzi and swim spa, however one of the wooden steps were wobbly. Apart from that thank you very much for our stay!
A fabulous place to stay plenty of room for us all, the beds were so comfy! The grounds were great we loved taking a walk to the lakes, and seeing the horses. The owners were lovely so welcoming, and we all loved the dogs! We will definitely be visiting again had a great stay. Thank you
Jessica
Absolutely lovely house, clean and tidy, owners were so helpful and were there for anything we needed. Beautiful location, not close to a road so quiet, but only a 25 minute drive from tourist places such as New Quay and Aberystwyth
Hayley
We had a lovely weekend get together at Tynewydd Fields. The house was lovely, well equipped, spacious and clean. The grounds were extensive, they were beautifully maintained and perfect for children to run around and keep busy with the added play facilities. The owners were fantastic they were very friendly, approachable and couldnt do enough for us. Thank you for being so accommodating during our stay! There is no doubt we will be returning next year, we have found a real gem!
Christine
Our family group of 14 aged between 75 and 10 have just returned from a wknd at the cottage. It is a beautiful property with excellent facilities. The youngsters enjoyed the outdoor playground, collecting eggs and meeting the horses, whilst everyone enjoyed the hot tub and swim spa and a glorious walk along the nearby coastal walk after 6 miles it was the best pint, fish and chips and ice cream we have ever had! A weekend is not long enough and we will definitely be back.
Maxynne
This house was perfect for everyone. The photos really do not do this property justice, it really is a very roomy property. Excellent facilities, home from home with the added bonus of hot tubswim spa. The grandchildren enjoyed the play area. Happy children a relaxed holiday. The owners were really friendly and helpful, we had a couple of minor issues which were sorted very promptly with no impact on our holiday whatsoever. We would all love to go back as soon as we can!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!
Christine
The photos, dont do this property justice! The hot tub and swim pool are massive. The whole house is really roomy and had everything our family group from age 3 to 87 years old needed including a lift for my disabled daughter. Huge outdoor space and lots of outdoor seating. We were fortunate most days with our weather and sat out in the sunshine. Ray and Dawn the owners are lovely, dont be put off by bad review. While wine cooler doesnt work, the huge fridge more than coped with our wine, fizz and beer. Oh and our fresh food. Theres a combination ovenmicrowave built in to the kitchen and more than enough dishes, pans to enable us to have a full roast dinner. As my husband said best place we have stayed and we like to travel!!
Ray the property owner met us when we arrived showed us around. And was so helpful. Kitchen had everything we needed. So well equipped. The house its self is huge. Plenty of space for everybody grandchildren age from 14 to 9, we never once heard were bored so much to do from the swimming pool, hot tub, the games room and the bridge going between the trees and the play park complete with swing and trampoline. Perfect place for for all ages. Children could feed the pet hens and our dogs had a safe enclosed area. We had a delight stay. Can almost guarantee well be back. Jan
An amazing space. Extremely comfortable and homely. Has all the amenities you could want and the owners are fantastic friendly people.
Thank you Ray and Dawn for a really lovely stay. All 12 of us had a really great time! It was like spending time with family. We had read a review commenting on some issues about the property including cobwebs but we were delighted with what we found when we arrived. We knew we were staying in a home and not a not a show home! That meant we could relax and enjoy our stay and the lovely facilities. We also made friends with the chickens and the dogs! The hospitality Ray and Dawn showed was really above and beyond what we might have hoped for or even dreamed. We are happy to recommend the property and will be returning for more family get togethers.
Rebecca
We all loved staying here, the pictures don't do it justice! ! The owners are lovely. Book it you won't regret it. From the fantastic playground to the luxurious swim spa. Everything you could need in the kitchen. A real home from home.
We were very pleased and satisfied with our cottage. I was so glad that my son and the rest of my family and friends enjoyed our short break in Tynewdd fields. The cottage is very spacious, clean, contemporary, relaxing, and comfy to stay for a weekend break. We celebrated my son's 7th birthday and 2 of my friend's birthday last 3rd 6th of February. The hot tub and pool was really relaxing for adults and fun for kids. The bedrooms are big in size. The kitchen is massive and really satisfying as we did a lot of cooking, even kids managed to do some baking session. The playground was very good too. The owner is also very accommodating and nice to us. The washing mahine and dryer was a bonus. The wifi was not that good, but in a way it was good as children was able to play other games not using wifi. The lounge was massive and comfy with wood fire place. We were able to do karaoke as a one big family. The pool game and football game were fun and part of the attraction. The dining room is also massive and can accommodate us for our meal times. We also had a little walk around the area. We all enjoyed our stay and wanted to go back.
Lovely property with excellent amenities. The owner was very welcoming and provided us with all the information we needed. The only thing we noticed is that the property could do with a good clean in places , ie the double bedroom downstairs was very dusty and had lots of cobwebs. We did advise the owner upon leaving about other things. We would stay again.
The accommodation on first viewing would be perfect but unfortunately it wasnt to the usual standard we have come to expect from Sykes ie main shower in downstairs disabled room shower not usable. Controls were not usable couldnt control temperature of water. It was either red hot or freezing cold. Owner was informed nothing was done.In the guest book it was also mentioned in October.Having a disabled daughter made it very inconvenient. The wine chiller in the kitchen wasnt working tho owner said he would come back the following day to have a look and repair and never did. The wood burner in the lounge we were unable to use every time we tried it smoked the house out.We have one at home the only thing we could think of is there is a blockage in the chimney or it needs sweeping. One of the baths upstairs when you emptied the bath water was seeping out from under the bath the owner was informed. His answer to that was I think I need a full time plumber. On our day of departure when we stripped the beds we were horrified at the state of some of the duvets. The one in the upstairs disabled room was urine stained to a point it was absolutely disgusting. Our one in the other upstairs double room was splattered in blood. We do have photos of the duvets if you want to see. The Xmas tree was nearly dead when we got there all the baubles were falling off. The overall cleanliness of the place was grim way below the standard we expect from Sykes. When you are paying the price they are charging you dont expect all these issues.
