Golwg Las Reviews

If you want an out of the way R and R break, this is the place. So peaceful and quiet a real hidden very gem. Very comfortable accommodation and welcoming hosts. Ours was only a short break and we very much wish it could have been longer. Make sure you follow the host's arrival instructions and not your satnav! Would thoroughly recommend
Adrian

A lovely cottage, with all essentials and extras included. The owners were very kind and accommodating. We loved our time at Golwg Las!
Absolutely loved our stay. Cottage was so well equipped and very comfortable and clean. It was so peaceful and the scenery awesome. Catherine was very friendly and helpful. Lilly was such a sweet dog and spent some time with us. We will definitely go back and highly recommend.
The cottage was beautiful as was the location. It was also very well equipped with everything being catered for. Catherine was very welcoming and a wander around the property with the animals was a delight. A special mention for Lilly, the dog, who always greeted you with a bark and a very waggly tail.
Outstanding in every way, clean, comfortable and spacious. Views from the balcony superb, and greetings from Lily the superdog were charming. Cannot fault it in any way and would return tomorrow if we could. The best Sykes has to offer.
Frederick
Excellent cottage, the tranquility of the area surpasses our expectations.
A lovely relaxing stay. The cottage had everything we needed. Very comfortable and cosy. Loved having coffee on the deck with that view! An ideal spot to unwind. Perfect
Michelle
WOW what a fabulous cottage tucked out of the way, an ideal spot for a great Christmas break. Catherine is so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and her Welsh cakes were delicious
Perfect! We loved our stay here! Cant fault any of it!
Loved the cottage and the setting . The owner Catherine was very welcoming and had time to chat to two ' old codgers ' .We would certainly recommend it to anyone who likes to be off the beaten track.
We had a wonderful welcome and stay from Catherine and Lilly
Beautiful barn conversion, on a lovely small farm, with every need anticipated. The access to the property was challenging on first arrival, but once we found our way via the various rugged tracks and lanes, it was fine. As previous visitors have commented, if you have a low chassis vehicle, leave it at home! The property is in a remote location surrounded by stunning scenery and provides a relaxing retreat, but still accessible to the amenities and attractions of the area. Catherine was a welcoming host and the hens, geese, and Tilly the dog were great neighbours.
Pauline
We went away to have a peaceful and relaxing week, this is exactly what we got. The cottage has everything that you need and is very comfortable. The surroundings are very tranquil, there are a few animals running around chickens, geese, cats and a very lovely dog called Lily. it was a pleasure to see them every day.
A quaint cottage in rural Wales and we had a lovely time! The cottage was very well equipped, making it easy to feel right at home. The comfy bed was a delight after a day of exploring, and we loved waking up to beautiful views of the countryside. It was a bonus to have a friendly dog and even some chickens wandering around, adding to the rustic charm. However, a couple of things to note there were some ants in the room and shower, so a bit of extra care might be needed there but I imagine this was a one off and was quickly seen to. Also, be aware that the location is quite remote charmingly so! but you might want to avoid taking an older car down the narrow lanes leading to the cottage and around the area in general. All in all, a great spot for a peaceful retreat if youre prepared for a bit of adventure!
Myself and my partner had the most wonderful stay. Everything was perfect. Being in that location did us the world of good. We did some great walks also took the bikes out. The barn is beautiful and super comfy and had everything we needed. Catherine was a fantastic host and we loved being around the animals. Were booking again for December! Thank you for having us!
We had a wonderful week stay, the cottage is beautiful and has everything you could need. Unfortunately we didn't have the weather to use the balcony much but the view was lovely. I personally loved having the animals near by. The welcome pack is very thoughtful eggs were delicious The only thing to note and this is not a negative is the road to the property is very narrow and rough so if you want to come in a fancy low sports car you will struggle. Overall we would definitely return.
A beautiful setting. So quiet. Loved the garden and plants.
Patricia

Had a great week here, very comfortable, clean cottage in peaceful surroundings. Friendly owner and nice essentials pack on arrival. Lovely place to relax and watch the world go by, and the antics of the farmyard ducks and geese keep you amused. Local area is very picturesque with lots of places to visit.

Amanda
Really clean well equipped cottage. Everything you need. Peace and quiet nothing but the sound of the birds, animals and the wind in the trees. Great welcome pack. Would recommend.
Darren
What a wonderful place to stay. Such a friendly comfortable place that was so peaceful especially for nature lovers. It was great to meet all the pets from Lilly the dog, the cats, ducks, chickens, geese and Guinea fowl. Many thanks for the lovely fresh goose, duck and chicken eggs, butter and cider. We would highly recommend a stay here and we plan to come back. Also we recommend visits to The Big Pit, Botanic Gardens and Picton Castle and If you like walking, pop in to Abergorlech for a walk up and through the forest where there are three walks from easy to more challenging.
Andrew
If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, then this is the place to be! The cottage is tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped. We received a wonderful welcome from the owner and her dog Lily, and the freshly laid eggs were delicious! The view from the decking at the rear of the property is stunning and also offers the opportunity to watch the red kites and the Redstart nesting next door. We absolutely loved it and we will definitely be going again.
Gloria

Lovely quiet place to stay . My only comment would be a bit more local walking information would be helpful.
Fantastic cottage and what a place to stay and get away from every day lifeeverything you need and want is there. .....
Vincent
Wonderful cottage, very well presented and finished, one of the nicest we have stayed at. Owner very friendly , much appreciated the goose eggs, made a lovely huge omelette! Access over the track was a little rough but the advert made that very clear so not a problem, intact just made it feel more rural. Would certainly recommend this as a great place to stay.
Lovely people, location and cottage. Private and peaceful. Exactly what we wanted.
A beautiful cottage in a lovely rural setting. You will be made extremely welcome by Catherine, the owner and Lily the Spinone who is so very friendly. Plenty to do and see with a comprehensive guide to the locality available at the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy and well appointed cottage with every comfort to hand. Diolch yn fawr.
Andrew
We has a wonderful time at this cosy cottage. It was clean, smelt amazing, well equipped and comfortable. The decking would have been lovely if only the weather had been conducive to sitting out there. Lovely views and so peaceful. After a long journey the goodies were much appreciated Catherine as were the delicious warm Welsh cakes so thank you very much. And thank you Lily for the waggy welcomes and the occasional company. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting something well off the beaten track in beautiful surroundings.
A lovely location for a quiet getaway break. Wales is very pretty.
Lucinda
Beautiful cottage, had everything you could possibly need. Spotlessly clean. Isolated and quiet. Catherine could not do enough for us. Lily is gorgeous. We had a wonderful holiday in the perfect location. Thank you Catherine, you are a perfect host. We will be back.
Lovely comfortable spacious property with everything you need. Remote peaceful location but not far from main routes and central to most places, the coast and the Brecons. Friendly owner who is nearby for any enquiries. Good value for such high standards and beautiful surroundings.
