Albert House Reviews

Elouise
The property was nice to stay at and the location and parking was easy. The kitchen was nice and big and well equipped. Although the table was very wobbly and one of the chairs needed pushing back together at one point as it seemed unstable. The beds were all comfortable enough, although the upstairs double bed in the room that had the single bed also was very squeaky, which was a bit of a pain as it meant that any movement made a loud noise and disturbed the person in the single bed. The bathroom was nice and the shower worked well, but there was no lock on the bathroom door. The outside area was quite over grown with weeds, but was okay for sitting out on the patio. The bikes that were available to use didnt look in good working order so we didnt use them. The cottage was cute and worked well for us, but just a few areas that could be improved
This was my 4th stay at this property, I suppose I'm being bias about this property but i was only born some 100 yds down the road and knew the owners who bought this property many years ago, its a solid old building, comfy cosy, just the place to stay if you like exploring , hiking and not too far away from interesting pace's to explore, Brynamman was my place of birth and playground, I moved from village some 16 yrs since, a real welsh village, though not the same, I suppose you've got to move with the times.

Lovely stay at Albert House once again. The owner goes out of his way to help with any issues. Will be visiting again soon.
Alison
We had a lovely stay , the house is beautiful . The owner were very prompt at sorting out a problem we had , couldn't fault the care and attention that's gone into this house
Edward
Lovely place for exploring South Wales. Comfortable and characterful. The spacious kitchen was much appreciated.
Carole
Cottage itself was lovely, plenty of room for the 2 of us but a bit crowded when my son and his wife and little girl visited us. The log burner was very welcome as it was quite cold and misty when we were there. One criticism was the cooking utensils, eg. saucepans, frying pans and pizza dishes hadn't been washed properly, they were greasy and had bits of food burnt on. we used the dishwasher to give them a good clean before we used them. We managed to park outside the cottage so the rear parking wasn't a problem but the path down the back garden was extremely slippery with moss so needs a bit of attention..

This cottage had been recommended to us by friends whole live in the area Well equipped with good size back garden for our doggie Be warned though when we were there in September neighours fence didn't exist making the back unsecured The cottage is in a great location It stated in the owners handbook Enough logs & kindling for one fire we looked everywhere in the cottage unable to find it
Geoffrey
We wrongly assumed it was a secure garden as our dog is liable to wander off, not far but a risk due to the roads outside the property. Fortunately we always include a stake and extended lead in our holiday pack which he doesn't particularly like. Other than that it is a lovely cottage with various attractions within easy reach.
Lovely cottage, clean and very well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Heating was on so good to dry clothes and shoes. It's a really quiet area, we rested well here. The house is a good spot to travel to Brecon Beacons and explore the mountains. Parking was a bit too tricky for us so we just left the car on the road.
Stephen
Fourth time staying at this lovely cottage. Always spotlessly clean and great facilities.

Another stay at this lovely cottage. The owners are also extremely helpful if you have any issues. Will be staying here again soon.

Really comfortable cottage, very well equipped. My husband & son both over 6ft weren't keen on the low doors, but for my normal height it was fine! The rooms were spacious, the kitchen wellequipped, and the beds very comfortable. Thank you very much!
Albert house was a truly lovely base for us during our short stay and we would not hesitate to book again for a return trip to the area. The house has everything you need, instructions are clear, the place is cosy and comfortable. It is very well located for many nearby attractions and even those further afield if you don't mind a longer drive.
Valerie
A quaint cosy cottage in a good location
Lovely place to stay, really comfortable and warm with lovely touches. Couldve done with an oven glove, we did search but couldnt find one. Bit of noise from the property next door being renovated, the owner did apologise but if wed of stayed longer than 3 nights it couldve got a bit annoying as it went on into the evening.
Stephen
Second time staying at this lovely cottage and it won't be the last. We stayed visiting family but it's just a short walk to the black mountains. Cottage is spotless and facilities are excellent. Highly recommended.
Superb stay, enjoyed your lovely cottage and when you hit the Brecon Beacons just wow! My only slight issue with the property was the parking space at the rear, reversed in as per your listing instructions but the gradient nearly took my front bumper off, getting in and out. I just parked at the front with no issues like the rest of the residents on the street. Might be worth adding this to your listing? I only have an Astra, nothing crazy low. Again, thank you very much.
Lovely cottage. Pictures don't do it justice. Garden much longer than I expected. Loads to see and do in South wales
Georgina
Lovely little cottage, well equipped and comfortable, lots of great walks within a short drive.
My son and I enjoyed our stay very much, as all was as was promised, more really, as a lovely welcome tea, coffee and biscuits tray greeted us and was just what we needed on arriving. It was ideally placed for us to do all our planned trips. The Mumbles, Monkey Sanctuary, The National Gardens, Waterfalls all enjoyed with the picnic we took when we went. One day we went via Carmarthen shops and late lunch and on down to the coast to take an evening trip on Pembrokeshire Boats to see Puffins, Shearwaters, Razorbills and Guillemots. These 1000s of birds are a must for anyone staying there in May, June or July before birds finish rearing young and fly away. A holiday home I would recommend to anyone as the views are beautiful every time you leave the house.
Albert House was welcoming, very clean and confortable. We enjoyed a nice holiday.
The property was lovely and has been thoughtful presented and provides a comfortable compact base to explore the area
Steven
The house was great , perfect for our needs and a great location for exploring in all directions.
Judith
This is a really cute little house and we had a happy two weeks in it. We were particularly glad that the bed was long enough too often in holiday cottages the bed is too short and has a footboard so that tall people do not fit in it so big plus for that. It would have been useful to know that the off road reserved parking at the back of the property is actually at the bottom of the garden and that there is back access to the garden. Had we known that, we would have brought our bicycles. The communication with the owner once we were in the cottage was brilliant, so we could clarify things like what we should do with composable waste.
