Dinefwr Cottage Reviews

This is our second visit to Dinefwr cottage. It's a lovely setting in the countryside and ideal for us to visit our family. Josie, the host, is really helpful and always comes round to visit and make sure everything is fine.
My 3rd visit We couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming. The cottage was immaculate. We will definitely return to this peaceful location in countryside.

On site facilities were great and helped make the stay feel like a second home. Any small issues we had were resolved immediately by Josie host who was friendly and welcoming.
This is the first time in this lovely cottage. We have stayed in the other two on sight, which are also very good. I love staying here, as the hosts are so friendly. And is a great location, to take in the sights of South Wales. And to visit the memory tree of my dad in Swansea.
My second stay at Llety Meiri
Since I moved to Wales over 20 years ago, I have stayed in many self catering establishments both for work and play ! These cottages are part of a small group of barn conversions with a family home and courtyard. As I extended my stay I ended up staying in 2 of these cottages, all clean everything you could want good WIFi etc, Washing facilities and games room great too. They are named after 3 local Castles, the garden for visitors comprises of a large area of older woodland dominated by ancient oak trees large and small, ideal for families and their pets. Gavin and Josie are great hosts and part of that lies with their love of their own 2 Spaniels and they are happy for you to interact with them, which any dog owner would do. The setting, the high standard of accomodation and relaxed surroundings made it one of the best places I have stayed in.
Lovely place with beautiful grounds, loved the games room.
A lovely property with all you need for a very quiet break away from it all. Beautiful area and only a couple of minutes from town . Lovely friendly and helpful owners . We will definitely be returning and our dog loved it ! Perfect !

Lovely comfortable cottage with fantastic welcome by our hosts Josie and Gavin. Beautiful peaceful setting in an area close to many places of interest. This was our second stay at Dinefwr Cottage, we enjoyed our earlier stay so much, we wanted to come back for a longer break and explore the area further. Husband and Daughter loved the Games Room! we all had another restorative and enjoyable stay, Thank you.
Absolutely heaven on earth for peace and tranquility, Beautiful location and is a good base to explore the many great places that South wales has to offer. Hosts Josie and Gavin were really nice people and were there if you needed anything. If we could give 11 out of 10 we would. Cant wait till our next visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage provided all we needed was very clean and Josie and Gavin were extremely helpful with recommendations for places to visit. Set down a quiet little lane with the cows in the nearby field it was a very peaceful and relaxing holiday. Would definitely recommend this accommodation. Caryl
A wonderfully clean, comfortable, well appointed cottage. Everything was there to make our holiday go smoothly from the cottage itself to the really useful well equipped utility room to the fabulous games room. The touches of the fresh flowers to tea, coffee, milk, welshcakes etc were very welcome after a long drive. The owners have thoughtfully put a comprehensive folder together with everything to know and more about your stay and history of the cottages. There is also a good selection of tourist information in the games room. The games room itself is well stocked with books, board games, toys etc. We particularly loved playing table tennis. We have a full size table at home but at present have not the room to use it, so this was great. The nearby castles and gardens are a must to visit as well as Dinefwr House and the National Trust's Gold Mine. All in all a wonderful weeks holiday and will certainly recommend to family and friends. We loved Ollie the cat a 'purrfect' character!

Beautiful, quiet cottage, maintained to a high standard with everything we needed. The little touches are what made us love it. The little jar of dog biscuits, the Welsh cakes, the pint of milk, couple of beers, teacoffee, the dining table with flowers, so very welcoming. The info on what to see, the 'how to' book for the cottage, everything was thought of. Comfortable rooms, linen lovely and soft. The separate games room & utility room is a bonus. Such a great base, rural but not too far from the sights. Dog friendly too, with the use of the enclosed paddock is a big plus for us. Thank you Josie & Gavin, the area and property is idyllic, we will definitely return and recommend.
The cottage is in a beautiful area which is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It is very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. They have a great area where you are able to exercise your dog safely. A thoroughly enjoyable week!
We really enjoyed our stay. A beautiful and idyllic setting. Would recommend very highly. Will definitely be returning.
Jacqueline
Lovely little cottage in restful location, surrounded by beautiful rural scenery. Great welcome, helpful and friendly owners, great onsite facilities our daughter particularly enjoyed the wellstocked shared games room. We enjoyed our week so much that we booked up another stay in the autumn as soon as we returned home! The area has many interesting places to visit, one week just wasn't enough to see them all!
We had such a wonderful time at Dinefwr Cottage. The cottage itself is really well presented, clean, light and airy. It is situated in a beautiful part of Welsh countryside, close enough to all main routes for travelling around south Wales. The games room was a great addition to our stay as was the paddock for walking our dog. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for an amazing stay Josie and Gavin thank you also for the dog treats and Welsh cakes!
Amazing cottage in a lovely area. Lovely walking spots. Would definitely recommend and stay again
Compact and cosy cottage ideal for a short stay for couplesmall family. Cottage is well equipped and owners have kitted out a games room and laundry room for guests which is really useful. Great to have ample parking and stay in a quiet area.
Anthony
We much enjoyed our stay at Dinefwr Cottage & have ALREADY recommended it to some friends. It was clean & comfortable & the owners were welcoming & helpfulincluding when it came to working the TV! Maybe a written list of stepbystep instructions would be useful! If we wanted a holiday in the same area again we would be very happy to return to that cottage. Several places of interest to see within a few miles, including the National Botanic Garden of Wales & Aberglasney Gardens. We also appreciated being so near to the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Isabella
Nice property but more compact than it looked on listing. Paintwork looking a bit tired. Bed and sofa comfortable. Cosy cottage. Nice welcome pack. Situation good for visiting various places. Good paddock for exercising the dog. Ok for short break but a bit small for us for longer. No storage space for food except fridge and we like to cater for ourselves due to intolerances. Hob very small but there is a microwave. We had to make a rush booking as let down by another organisation so were very grateful to get this property. Bonus was that it was at a reduced price!
Kenneth
We enjoyed our stay. Being elderly folk we did find the Smart tv and cooking job the usual digital problem but finally solved it.
Robert

This is the perfect place, the cottage was extremely amazing, everything on hand, the owners go above & beyond, such a lovely warm welcome, it was like home from home, with everything there, such a lovely cottage & nice walks if you have a pet, couldnt fault one thing about the cottage or surrounding grounds, most definitely a 5, was one of the best cottages in wales Ive ever stayed in
Matthew
Very enjoyable stay ,very much enjoyed the garden and games room, cottage was very comfortable, and particularly liked the little extra essentials that were given to us,owners were very friendly. Must apologise for not leaving comments at cottage, couldnt find a pen.
Rosanne
The cottage is in an idyllic situation, we loved it and were blessed with beautiful weather. The cottage is compact and has everything that's needed for a relaxing stay. A few extra notes on how the use the smart TV would be helpful, but Josie soon showed us. I also struggle initially with an induction hob, but we got there! Very much hope to visit again as the countryside is so beautiful. An excellent base to visit the National Botanical Gardens of Wales and RHS Aberglassney Gardens. Our thanks to Josie and Gavin for a special stay.
