Doirewood Reviews

Very clean and decorated lovely. The owners were very helpful and friendly . They sent all the information via WhatsApp. I would highly recommend this cabin
The chalet is absolutely delightful, extremely comfortable and clean. Lovely welcome pack including milk, Welsh butter and Welsh cakes. The beds are really comfortable and a great shower. Plenty of comfortable seating in the lounge. Well equipped kitchen, like home from home. Lovely towels provided. There is a small ironing board but take your own iron. Hairdryer in the bedroom. I would also recommend eye masks for the morning if you like to stay in bed after sunrise. The position of the chalet means you have the chance to sit in the sun all day on the great choice of outdoor furniture. Really private spot as well. The bird feeder and the bird food provided is a great idea as you can watch the great variety of birds including the woodpeckers, also some cheeky squirrels. Lovely dog walking field as well with plenty of bins around it. A truly serene spot, perfect for early morning meditation. Great place to stay as a base for exploring the beautiful surrounding areas Also some great local pubs in the nearby village for drinks and meals. Owners are very dog friendly, our two had a great holiday.
Bery friendy and polite

We all really enjoyed our stay at Doirewood. The photos are exactly the same as the cabin interior so no surprises there. The only problem we had was using the TV which we had to contact the owner about. The internet connection is quite poor with the signal dropping regularly which meant there was regularly no TV service due to the TV only using a Firestick. This was frustrating and with no TV aerial available we missed a lot of our regular viewing in the evenings. Besides this there is plenty to do and see in the area and would visit again.

Doirewood is in a wonderful location, surrounded by trees and nature. It's a most welcoming and peaceful setting with enough space between lodges so that you don't feel cramped in or overlooked. The lodge itself exceeded expectations it was clean. comfortable, welcoming, everything was working including the WiFi and amenities ticked all our boxes. I would heartily recommend Doirewood as a base if visiting this region of Wales.
Alfred
Very comfortable cabin and we made the most of the lovely decking as soon as the sun came out. Penlan is a quiet peaceful site and hopefully the outdoor pool will be open soon because sadly it was still under maintenance when we were there. Highly recommend China Kitchen Chinese take away in Newcastle Emlyn.

We have had a lovely stay here this past week. The cabin is very cosy, warm and homely. It was nice to arrive and find milk, butter etc had been left for our use. Due to the weather we didnt get to muse the outside space, however from the windows we saw lots of different birds, rabbits and squirrels. Just something to mention, the bunk beds are childs size and not suitable for an adult to use unless theyre quite short, under 5ft. As we took 2 older children with us it meant that our daughter had to sleep in the bunk but because of its size she didnt sleep well at all. This isnt a complaint or criticism but its worth noting if youre considering this accommodation. Our hosts were super helpful and I have no reservations in recommending this accommodation. Thanks for a lovely week.
No signal no reception no cafe no pool no shower . Wasnt informed of feathered bed quilt and scatter cushions. Highly allergic to us both . Came home two days early ..
Gareth
No complaints about the property, it was as described, a credit to the owners in a lovely setting, but in the advert it described the coffee lounge which never opened, and more important a reception which never opened and no staff available, and as we had a medical emergency during our stay with NO mobile phone coverage it was a cause for concern, perhaps Sykes should carry out a little more investigations before advertising non existent facilities.
Nicola
Outstanding loved the cottage, location, facilities will definitely return
Terence
A well positioned and equipped cabin on a very peaceful site Phil and Jackie the hosts, were so helpful prior to arrival and we found everything as described. Although we couldn't use all the facilities the cabin offers BBQ, pizza oven etc because of the weather that didn't stop us having a great stay. We would definitely stay again!
Andrew
Beautiful lodge very well kept and a pleasure to stay in, without a shadow of a doubt we will be back again, it was the perfect place to start the day and finish the day after our adventures. Highly recommended

Lovely property in a fabulous setting. I would happily book again in the future.
Melanie
A lovely lodge with all the amenities that you can possibly think of. The hosts Phil and Jackie were very approachable and on hand to answer any queries. We were a party of four adults and a dog. We explored all the surrounding area of West Wales with the lovely beaches and forest walks. We tried out the three pubs that are located within the local area of the park, White Hart, Three Horseshoes and Nags Head. All three served lovely pub food and are dog friendly. One of our favourite places to eat was Pizza Tipi in Cardigan. Would definitely return.
Cabin was lovely and well appointed. Park was very quiet and peaceful.
Had a brilliant stay at doirewood, loved the setting and the surrounding area of the site. everyone in our family enjoyed every minute and obviously didnt want to leave.
Sheryl
We had a lovely week at Doirewood with everything you could need indoors or outside on the wrap around secure balcony which our dogs enjoyed. Very peaceful just birds singing all day & visits from the spotted woodpecker. Owners Jackie & Phil very helpful with any needs you may have.
Malcolm
Lovely quite property, surrounded by trees with the sound of bird song etc. constantly present during the day. The parking was directly adjacent to the lodge making packingunpacking easy. The facilities were exactly as described, the double beds our small, which was perfect for us party of two, one each.
We have had a lovely stay at the cabin. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and although it was cold outside it got cosy inside really quickly with the fire in the living room. The beds were comfortable as was the modern living room furniture. The owners had provided everything we needed including instructions for using every single appliance, dog treats, bird seed for bird watching and a thoughtful pack of biscuits, butter and milk for our arrival. The WiFi in the cabin was brilliant and our kids spent the week happily connected. The enclosed veranda was stocked with a BBQ and pizza oven which would have been great to use when warmer weather. The text and call from the owners before our stay also made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend and hope we can return one day. Thanks Phil and Jackie
Booked a last minute getaway after a bad week and so glad I found Doirewood, Penlan Holiday park is a lovely place to recharge your batteries and this is the nicest cabin I've stayed in so far. It has everything you need and the owners are only a text away if you need any info or help. Just a mile down the road is the Nags Head pub and it never let's you down, lovely food in a great setting. Looking forward to a longer stay next time
A lovely holiday lodge, very peaceful, very well equipped. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A great base to explore south west Wales, Cenarth, Cardigan, Preseli Hills, all within a fairly short distance.

Enjoyable break in this well appointed cabin in a woodland setting on a quiet holiday park. Owners have done a wonderful refurbishment of the interior and it is a well appointed home from home.Handy for touring this corner of Wales with lots of places to visit within a thirty mile radius, Philip and Jackie were most helpful throughout the process..
Claire
We had a fabulous stay at Doirewood. The lodge and facilities available to us were fantastic and the surrounding area so peaceful and pretty. The owners Jackie and Phil couldnt do enough to help us. Thank you for a great holiday
The cottage was excellent and so peaceful and quiet in a beautiful woodland ... The cottage was excellent and so peaceful and quiet in a beautiful woodland setting close to Cenarth falls It was great for exploring the Pembrokeshire region
There was a very minor issue in the bathroom, the owners arranged for it to be repaired immediately. They also booked & paid for a meal for the family at a local pub in way of an apology for the issue in the bathroom. The owners shared information about the area & made recommendations for place to visits & eat. Having never visited the area before this information was really helpful. The owners couldnt have been more helpful. We had a wonderful stay & would definitely recommend the cabin to others.
A great location, nice and quiet, everything we needed in the cabin. Good WiFi which was handy as no phone signal. A lovely welcome pack on arrival, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, biscuits, chocolate, etc. Great having Netflix too! Close to 2 good pubs and lovely walks. First time staying in a wooden cabin in the woods and we enjoyed it.
