For Families
The Pirate works well for families with children. A cot and highchair are available for babies and toddlers. Amroth beach sits directly opposite with shallow waters suitable for young children. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path starts in Amroth for family walks.
For Couples
The Pirate suits couples wanting a beachfront base for exploring Pembrokeshire. The panoramic sea views from the living room create a peaceful setting. The woodburning stove adds warmth for winter breaks. Two double bedrooms provide comfortable sleeping arrangements. Saundersfoot harbour and Tenby town offer restaurants and pubs within easy driving distance. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path provides coastal walks. However, the property is designed for larger groups rather than intimate couple getaways.
Pet Friendly
The Pirate does not accept pets. The property operates a strict no pets policy for all stays. This makes the apartment unsuitable for guests wanting to bring dogs or other animals. Pet owners will need to find alternative accommodation in the Amroth area. The beachfront location and nearby coastal walks would otherwise suit dog owners, but the no pets rule is enforced by the owners.

The Pirate Reviews

Great accommodation in a perfect location. Firstly, let me say the photos do not do justice to the property. It's much bigger than I expected, with expansive living area, 4 good size bedrooms, 2 large modern bathrooms, and a fully kitted out kitchen. Parking is a breeze, with 30 minutes loading spot outside the door, and a parking lot 2 minutes walk behind. A free pass comes with the keys. Location is right on the beach and within easy reach of Saundersfoot, Tenby, and Pembroke. Highly recommended.
The Pirate is in a perfect situation and is a really inviting and comfortable accommodation with all the necessary amenities to hand. First class bathrooms and kitchen.Noise from the downstairs cafe was somewhat noticeable when music with drumbeat in it was played.Front door needs attention as it does not close properly and has to be locked to keep it shut.Overall a super place as we have already booked it for 2026.
Lovely place very clean ,very comfortable ,big and spacious, friendly staff in ... Lovely place very clean ,very comfortable ,big and spacious, friendly staff in shops below ,stones throw to beach , would prefer a washing machine instead of dishwasher ,but didn't affect our stay will return
Alison
3rd time staying, excellent accommodation and position. Very helpful host as always.
The property has one of the best views and locations , the lounge dining area and kitchen were comfortable and well stocked. However, the single beds were not comfortable , I would invest in new mattresses and the level of noise from the refrigeration units from the cafe below meant we all had to sleep with earplugs. I had read this in an earlier review so did come prepared.
Home from home with great sea views.
Barbara
We loved our stay at The Pirate. A big spacious flat above the shops with views over the sea. Well equipped and very comfortable. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Only downside is that you do get some kitchen smells and a nightbtime equipment noise at the back of the property which is over the cafe. We soon got used to this and it didn't spoil our holiday in any way. We would certainly return. There is so much to do within this area of Pembrokeshire. Lots of Castles, fantastic beaches and a trip to Caldey Island is a must.
Rachel
Excellent stay at the Pirate and enjoyed overlooking the seafront with beautiful views. The accommodation was well equipped and laid out, having everything we needed and was very comfortable. Parking was not a problem with the permit provided and we were able to walk to pubs and shops easily. The only minor issue we had was intermittent noise from a fridge ? in the cafe downstairs overnight, which woke our baby in the back bedroom on several occasions, but would not want that to negatively reflect on an excellent stay and would definitely return to the property.
Annastasia
Fabulous sea views, apartment was clean a little dated but had everything we needed. Main issue we had was the beds in the twin rooms were not very comfortable also at night the noise from the fridges or a compressor from down stairs was very loud. Which meant it was very difficult to get to sleep, Bedrooms could also do with blackout curtains as bedrooms were very bright from 06.00.
Wonderful place to stay. Owners very helpful. Ideal for exploring the area with restaurants, pubs and a shop. The cafe underneath the flat is ideal for breakfast, fish & chips, cakes and icecreams. Would highly recommend.
Adrian
Really good accommodation for a large family group. Great position on the sea front overlooking Amroth beach. Large apartment with plenty of room in the lounge area to spread out. 4 bedrooms were of an adequate size and comfortable enough. 2 bathrooms were well equipped with walk in shower and a bath with towels and some toiletries provided. Kitchen had all major appliances Including a large fridge, dishwasher tablets provided , oven and hob unit. Very homely rather than luxurious ideal for families. Our only minor negative observation was we couldn't find a hair dryer in the accommodation or a knife sharpener.? Would definitely use this accommodation again and highly recommend it as a great place for a family to stay.
Lovely property, the view from the living area was wonderful. Ed, the owner was very helpful. The village itself had places to eat, both during the day and in the evening. I would happily stay here again.
The flat is in an ideal position for everything, beach, shop and several pubs providing food. The cafe underneath serves really good food too, as well as delicious icecream. All on the doorstep! The flat is very clean and the owners are so friendly and helpful.
A lovely place to stay. Well equipped and clean. Wonderful sea views. Shame about the weather but enjoyed it anyway.
Thank you to Ed and Nicola for letting us stay at the Pirate It was perfect We shall be back again and again
A lovely position, spacious and clean.
The situation of this property was perfect for us. It was so clean and comfortable and handy for pubs, bars and walking, with a wonderful view. We had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

This was our second visit to The Pirate, so enjoyable last year, this year didn't disappoint. Nicola and Ed the owners are so welcoming, it's truly a lovely place to stay.
Excellent spacious property with great sea view. Very friendly welcome by the owner who very quickly resolved a small problem. We initially delayed booking bacause of previous comments regarding noise, whilst noticeable it was not an issue and we would not hesitate to book again, hopefully next year.
This is one of the best property's we have ever stayed in. Great facilities, well equipped with wonderful sea views. A very enjoyable stay.
Lovely spacious property with beautiful views of the sea. Great cafe underneath and very friendly and helpful owners. Lots to do in the area.
Jacqueline
Lovely apartment overlooking the sea. Spacious and comfortable but unfortunately the compressor attached to the outside wall which runs the walk in fridge for the cafe downstairs makes the most horrendous noise throughout the night, resulting in very little sleep for us all. It was so loud in the twin bedroom at the rear that my granddaughter couldnt stay in that room and had to share the other twin room with her older brother. Not an ideal situation for a teenage boy! We enjoyed our holiday despite this but would not stay in this property again because of the lack of sleep caused by the disturbance.
Had a wonderful stay with the family at this flat which overlooks the sea with an uninterrupted view. Was lovely and quiet despite the shop and cafe underneath, which came in very handy and they do takeaway fish and chips the best Ive had in a long time! Parking was easy enough, and free with the parking token they provide x2. Would definitely stay here again!
This flat was perfect for our family it was spacious, light, airy but also warm for the winter months and had everything we needed. You will definitely not be disappointed with the view from the windows as youre on the beachfront . The owners are below in the cafe very accessible and super helpful and unloading at the front and parking behind in the main car park was easy.
Carolyn
The owners of the property, Ed and Nicola were really friendly and so very helpful. Hopefully we will return next year.

Brilliant view . Great pub with great food nearby. Great walks on long beach and on coastal path to saundersfoot
Hilary
Great seaside holiday for the children. Friendly hosts and great ice cream. Very spacious, comfortable well equipped accommodation with fantastic views and beautiful beaches within walking distance and shallow waters for young children. All you could want for a great family holiday.
We really enjoyed our time at The Pirate. The cafe downstairs does wonderful breakfast buns that are really hot and filling. We were pleasantly surprised that Amroth has so much life about it but without it being commercial or noisy. The local National trust gardens were lovely and it was so easy to get to other places around and yet stay somewhere away from the maddening crowd. The view from The Pirate is fantastic and its so light and spacious. We saw seals in the sea from the lounge window.
Very good location on the beach. Spacious and clean. The people who own the property work downstairs in cafegifticream shops and are very nice and friendly. If you don't want to cook breakfast just go to the cafe and sit on the beach to eat. They also sell alcohol and soft drinks,so again you can sit on the benches on the beach!
Michelle
Had a great family holiday with 4 generations of family. Accommodation great, 2nd visit here & will definitely be back. Owners so helpful too.
Beautiful apartment with Nicola and Ed being so friendly and helpful. Very spacious with stunning views.
Michelle
We have just come back & are already looking at booking here again, if its fabulous views you are after you will not be disappointed ! The owners Ed & Nicola could not have been more helpful. There is a washing machine downstairs that you can use but this was not on the list of facilities. The Amroth Arms have the best sunday dinners but make sure you are hungry as portions are very generous. Lovely family holiday
Gordon
Everything about this weekend break was excellent, the owner of the flat was friendly and very welcoming, the position of the flat is perfect. The flat itself is clean and comfortable with ample facilities. Will definitely book again.
Stephen
The kids loved being above an ice cream shop. A nice, friendly location with ever changing sea views. The owner Ed was very welcoming and went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend.
