Oakland Cottage Reviews

Christine
Very nice accommodation but not much information left. The microwave instructions were for the wrong microwave and there was no information about where to find the bins. We could see where the general rubbish was but couldnt find recycling bins. Apart from that it was a lovely place to stay in and very well placed for visiting all the local towns and attractions. A short walk to a lovely pub at wisemans bridge where the portions were amazing and prices very reasonable.
Had a wonderful relaxing stay. Cannot fault the property which was lovely and clean. Disappointed no welcome pack considering cost of property. No books or games in property or barbeque. Does not mention in advert that inside a caravan park so a little misleading even though it was in a nice quiet spot in corner. The shower in main bathroom was lovely and hot. However, was looking forward to jaccuzi bath but plug was jammed down in bath and couldnt get it up. Looked like it was needed wiping cos it was marked with something and was abit off putting. Abit intrusive having cctv outside of property in front garden. No outside lights working in back decking area. Decking needs abit of attention some were unneven and sticking up. Finally kitchen tap needs some attention would not stop dripping. Needs some maintainance.
Cheryl
The property was lovely and spacious very dog friendly and safe. Only disappointed was shower in ensuite bathroom couldnt get warm water and toilet seat was loose. Also batteries were gone in a few items but that was not a problem and we could have rang owner Over all had a lovely holiday and would consider staying there again was in a lovely quiet area with ample parking.
Sanjeev
It's a very nice sized cottage. Specially one of the beds is king size, which is generally rare. Location is amazing and very very close to the beach. It's got good views from the patio, also ample parking. The amenities in the cottage are very good. On facilities, the ensuite bathroom has a glass door and toilet seat does not stay open. Some more things should be provided like bin bags etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Yvonne
Spacious accommodation but Ensuite shower we could not get it to run hot water toilet seat illfitting clear glass door to ensuite provides no privacy we put news paper on the door from the marks on the door, it looks as though we were not the only ones to do this! Marked duvet noticeable when stripping the linen as per the instruction. If you expect your clients to strip the linen the duvet etc needs to be spotless. Vacuum filthy had not been emptied tumble dryer filter full possible fire hazard. who ever cleans this property needs to be reminded to do this. Only one black bin bag provided no recycling facilities. Would have been nice to have a welcome package as with other rentals we have stayed at especially the high cost of renting this property. A new roll of toilet paper at least for each toilet would have been a nice addition mean spirited hosting. The step into the front of the property is too high and the tiles in the floor can be slippery therefore a hazard. I would think twice about renting this property as the cost is prohibitive we booked in haste I am sure there are better properties to rent at a lower cost.
Have had two lovely stays here in the last year. Property very clean and comfortable . Definitely a home from home bungalow. A very close property to lovely locations like Amroth and Wiseman's Bridge. Our dog had plenty of amazing walks. We will be booking to come back next year . Thank you for making our time here great . John
The property was really spacious and clean. It was ideal for us as our disabled dad was with us.Plenty of room for him to move around.Beds were really comfortable and views from decking were lovely. A couple of issues when we arrived with a water leak in en suite sink but issue was resolved straight away the following morning.Hoping to come back in the near future as ideal location for us.Thanks for a great stay
Lovely well maintained property in an excellent position. Close to Amroth, Saundersfoot & not far to travel to Tenby. Highly recommended.

Hi cottage dated bedroom with on suit carpet needs replacing with wood looking stained. cleaning behind bed as well as a lot of spiders webs and dust noticed will accessing the socket. no emergency book that we saw or things to do locally, takeaways, pubs, shops ect
Great location . Well maintained dwelling . Woof a bit poor at times , but the kids complained only when not on the beach or eating ice cream . Not far from great beaches and venues .
Cottage was spacious internally and externally with a secure self contained garden with parking for 3 cars and in a good location. The property was well decorated and fitted out, with ample storage. As previous reviews mentioned, a folder of local info with recommendations on suppliers and services, ie facilities at an adjacent caravan park were available to cottage users restaurant and swimming pool, would be useful The property would benefit from a bbq on the patio deck and a few more kitchen utensils wooden spoons, small oven pans, new scissors, potato peeler. Opaque glass on ensuite bathroom door and a few minor maintenance items. A good friendly and responsive owner . Overall a great place to stay for an extended family group.

Lovely holiday home mostly all amenities, couldnt get jacuzzi to work but it was no big deal ,would help greatly if there were some leaflets to have an idea of local things to do ,would be helpful to know that the beach parking at wisemans bridge was free but overall the cottage was 9 out of 10
Overall good holiday property. In need of some TLC maintenance wise. Cooker not too good. Double bed bit rickety. Toilet roll holder in main bathroom loose so toilet roll keeps falling off. On suite bathroom shower pipe coming away from wall. WiFi only working on weekend days not working Monday to Friday. Outside lighting not working rear decking. Shame because location good and nice property.
Nice big house situated on Oakland Caravan Park. Really comfy beds and dog proof garden and decking. Close enough to Amroth, Wisemans Bridge and Saundersfoot to walk as long as you don't mind the hill back. Stunning beaches, great pubs and lots to do. I would have liked the accommodation to be more welcoming. Can I suggest taking down the laminated instructionsorders and putting them in a welcome folder along with some information on local services and things to do. No welcome pack VERY unusual for a holiday let even just a pint of milk in the fridge would have been welcome after an 8 hour drive.
Richard
The property was detached and spacious, great surrounding, good base, accessible to many local attractions. Would suggest literature on local areaplaces etc. Fabulous home away from home. Highly recommend. Will stay again
Lovely accommodation that completely fulfilled our needs. We know Pembrokeshire extremely well, but information on the locality and surrounding area could be very helpful for others. Also ensuring the cleaning equipment is ready to use would be good. Great Dyson, but it had to be emptied before we could use it. Not a great problem, once we'd worked out how to open it!!! All in all a really lovely property and location.
Sent feedback some wee
Oakland Cottage is a lovely property. Secure garden for the dog, very comfortable for the occupants. This was our second year here and we would be happy to stay again. I had the owners phone number from a problem last year and texted her to say how much we enjoyed our stay.
Not impressed that we weren't pre told about Internet engineer turning up. We could not get the oven to work at all. The top was such a pain as kept going on and off.. Would benefit from better instructions or new cooker. Very basic kitchen utensils. Decking dangerous in places. Very bouncy where rotting. No lights outside would work. When bedding taken off at end of holiday stains over mattress. No information in property about anything that is going on locally or where places are. Or best places to See or Eat etc..
Cottage was everything we needed for a great weeks holiday. Very clean with all facilities needed. wonderful positioning for all main holiday resorts. Nice area to sit out and have breakfast with a view of the sea in the distance and frontage area gated off for dog to stretch his legs. Only point that I would make to forward to the owners is that the decking at the rear needs urgent repairs as the bearer to part of the decking is rotted and causing the decking to give way. Otherwise a lovely cottage.
Gerard
Lovely house, site, location. Plenty of parking space. Well maintained and felt private and secure . Only problem was cooker hob as pans didn't warm up.
Denise
Cottage was in good location and a good size. The jacuzzi did not work and the bath was disconnected due to a huge leak. No apologies were received for our disappointment and inconvenience of not having a bath as advertised. Basically equipped in the kitchen with rusty trays for the oven. The hobb was very difficult to operate as most previous occupiers have reported in visitors book. No info at cottage to tell us where local amenities are such as supermarket drs pharmacy vets etc unlike every other cottage we have stayed in.
In general excellent apart from the hob did not work and it was advertised the property had wifi which was non existent. That was crucial to me which made things very difficult and really I should get a partial refund of the money I paid. I tried contacting the owners by phone and text several times but got no response
Stewart
Beautifully furnished property, spacious accommodation and near to all facilities. Large garden for our dog and sun trap decking. Just some information re facilities nearby and a less temperamental hob and Id rate this 5
Stephen
Spacious and clean bungalow. A few lights ie over mirror in main bedroom, mirror in bathroom.outside light on to decking, none of these worked.cooker blew a fuse when using main oven, no info stating that the clock had to be put on for the cooker and hob to work.Lack of info on local shops pubs and eating places. There were no hooks on patio doors to stop them swinging.
We had a great stay at Oakland Cottage, which had all the facilities you could need and which were of a high standard. It's in a quiet location, just minutes away from the fabulous unspoiled beaches of Amroth and Saundersfoot which ideal ! We were blessed with good weather and the decking area was great for catching the afternoon sun. The very welcoming, modern Charlie's Bar, is just a 2 minute stroll across the road, serving good food and with a variety of beers & lagers on tap. It's an ideal place to make new friends and well behaved dogs are welcome. Fabulous holiday for us and our four legged family member.
Melissa
This was the nicest and cleanest dog friendly cottage we have ever stayed in. It smelt amazingly. This property is an easy walk alone the coastal path to 2 beaches and pubs. The Kitchen was well equipped although the knives were very blunt and there was no tin opener, the hob and grill seemed tricky to get on full power and took an age to fry bacon, but Im used to the instant heat of a gas hob so could be me. We would definitely stay here again.
Only thing that needs attention is the en suite bathroom toilet need repairing ... Only thing that needs attention is the en suite bathroom toilet need repairing and the cooker need induction hob pots and pans
Fantastic bungalow, beautifully clean & well equipped. Dog secure garden & very comfy beds. Loved the American fridge freezer & washing machine & dryer.
Steven
Enjoyed the cottage and had a great week . The boiler flue is not correct and needs looking at, its dropping acid condensate on ground out side , which I had to keep my dog away from Im a gas safe registered engineer by trade . We wanted to book next year but adding 500 about 45 more than this year is really naughty and greedy . A slight increase would have secured another booking from us . Your website is good and we will probly book thru Sykes again . Steve
Deborah
Great cottage in a lovely peaceful location. Lots of great walks and lovely places to visit nearby. The cottage had everything that we needed and was spacious and comfortable. Pembrokeshire is a beautiful county and we had a wonderful holiday.
Geraint
We had an absolutely fabulous week in Oakland Cottage. It was spotless clean, spacious and the kids really loved the garden & spa bath. Great location to explore beautiful Pembrokeshire. I cant recommend it enough & we will definitely be booking again.
This cottage was an excellent base for exploring West Wales. It is a beautiful cottage and is well equipped. Some of the smaller roads in and out of the property were a bit hairraising but fine if you took your time. The walk to the nearest pub at Wisemans Bridge is down one of these roads so be careful and the walk back is all uphill! We had a great time and would choose to stay here again.
Clean, tidy and well appointed accommodation. Reasonably priced and good communication in the run up to our holiday. COVID controls also good.
