Dolwylan Barn Reviews

This place is absolutely wonderful. Minutes from the sea, stunning walks all around and amazing views. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a break. Powerful, hot showers, deliciously, comfortable mattress, cozy, and warm. When we stayed at the end of March, it was gloriously sunny. We didnt see dolphins, but we did manage to glimpse plenty of seals and even a shooting star at night. We fell asleep each night to the sound of the sea crashing on the beach and woke each morning with the dawn chorus. Despite our best efforts, we never did see the woodpecker which drummed most of the day!

Outstanding. This property is exceptional in every way. A real testament to the care and dedication shown by the owners. Look forward to returning again one day
Cottage is in a great location just a few minutes walk to a beautiful cove and the coastal path. The garden is large and although not fully enclosed can be made so with strategic placement of binsgarden furniture.
An absolutely gorgeous cottage. We enjoyed it and lacked nothing. We'd love to come back and a big thank you to the owners.
Very nice place you have there you should be proud, the presentation and cleanliness was fantastic, it was a pleasure to stay there shame we couldnt have stayed there longer, my son, the hound and I all had a fantastic well overdue holiday! Thank you for this very much!!
Michael
We loved our stay at the property, a fantastic little gem right on the coastal path, would 100 recommend for couples with a dog.
The tiny single lane roads were a challenge but it was all worth it to get to this beautiful cottage. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday away from it all. We loved it!!
Beautifully converted to an exceptionally high standard. Everything you could wish for a lovely relaxing holiday. Great location, really well equipped, spacious but cosy accommodation, great outside space for dogs and a fabulous sea view too.
Perfect for two, lovely cottage in the best part of Wales we think! Love it here.
If you need to escape Dolwylan Barn is the perfect place to go to unwind. Lovely location and peaceful.Audrey and Tim
We really enjoyed our stay here and found the barn to have everything we needed for a relaxing and peaceful stay, with wonderful views out to sea. Lovely conversion which was spacious yet cosy and can see the attention to detail. Perfect location for the beach a few minutes walk away and we saw a seal! With the aid of the detailed welcome book, the surrounding coastal walks are a must with their views and hidden coves. First time to this area and will definitely book again. Just a note to other dog owners the garden isnt enclosed and there is a gap between the barn and cottage gardens who also allow dogs.
A reaslly beautiful property in a hevanely place
Steven
Underfloor heating not working properly
So glad we booked here. Perfect for two. Short walk down for breakfast on the beach watching seals and dolphins chasing the fish. Or sitting under the cover outside the kitchen with the beach view. Silence except for the birds and sea if it's wavey enough. Very private even with the cottage next door and nothing from the small private caravan site near by. Best recommendation is we will be back again. First time at this part of Welsh coast and it is amazing with cliffs, walks, beaches and rest food stops!
Darren
A very tasteful and well executed barn conversion. Cosy and spacious with great shower rooms. Underfloor heating a real bonus to take the edge off the Autumn evenings. A huge highlight is the views from the property windows over wooded hills and out to sea. The beach is practically on the doorstep and surprisingly very quiet for such a beautiful place. The views from the surrounding cliff walks are a must.
Robert
Beautiful property in a beautiful valley. Super clean and detailed in its renovation, loved our time there. Very detailed house info book , thank you. Only improvement is a few more kitchen essentials, we like to cook the wonderful local produce, so a few roasting tins sheets maybe? Hope to be back soon!
What a fantastic cottage! It was beautiful and the owners had thought of everything needed for a comfortable stay. Even toilet rolls and cleaning products were included! The sea view was fantastic and the location very peaceful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Barn. The accommodation was immaculately clean and well maintained. The location provided plenty of opportunities for exploring the area whether by car or by foot or paws!.
Nicola
A beautifully renovated Barn, well equipped with everything you would need. Such a peaceful location and coast path walks from the door, what more could you ask for
The Barn was very well equipped and beautifully decorated. We took our dog Lilly with us and she loved the garden and the 4 minute walk to the beach. The location was very peaceful just what we wanted The only slight negative I have is the Barn could be more dog secure from the Cottage next door by by adding a gate or fence on the heat pump side of the Barn but this didnt detract from the wonderful week we had at Dolwylan Barn recommend it to anybody wanting a relaxing stay it is absolutely stunning
Amanda
A lovely property of a very high standard. It was wellequipped, spacious yet cosy. Its location was perfect. So near to the coastal path, we enjoyed many stunning walks from the door. The sunsets over the sea were gorgeous and you could see these from the garden or the rear windows. It is in a very peaceful setting but right next to another property and a small mobile home park a small field away. You could not see or hear the mobile home park once you are at the property but you notice it on the track approaching the property. This was a bit of a surprise for us on arrival, but did not affect our enjoyment of the property at all. We did struggle with the underfloor heating, but thats probably because we are not used to it. We would highly recommend this property if you enjoy coastal walks and peace and quiet.
Claire
It is a stunning cottage in a fantastic location. We fell in love with it before we opened the door. It has everything you need for a short break or a full holiday. The only thing we found missing was either a clothes airer or a small washing line would of been great. Have already recommended to family and friends.
Outstanding accommodation, perfectly placed, a couple of minutes' walk above lovely Cwmtydu cove. Heaven for dogs with coastal path, woodland walks, rivers, streams and waterfalls. Once you arrive, no real need to take your car out again, except for provisions or exploring further afield. Very impressed with heat pump, underfloor heating and top quality Welsh wool mattress and duvet, and proper bed linen to aid deep sleep after hikes along the coast. Truly peaceful. Owners' welcome pack and detailed information much appreciated too.
Alexander
All in All a fantastic stay, they have thought of everything. 100 would recommend
Fabulous week away in this comfortable, clean & cosy barn. Thank you for the welcome basket and making our stay exactly what we wanted peace quiet and relaxing.
Philip
I was sent an e mail during my week which I saw when I got home because I do not do apps or e mails etc on my phone. If a client phones with a problem it would work best to receive a phone call back or if they text , a text or if they e mail then an e mail, that would make sure quick resolution and satisfaction of problems .
Amazing cottage. The pictures do not it justice as the view is beautiful, and the attention to detail inside is 1010. A great place to retreat when the weather isnt on your side or relax after a day walking or on the beach if it is. Very spacious, peaceful and quiet.
Fabulous, well appointed accommodation, with great sea views. Incredibly peaceful location, yet only a 3 minute walk to the beach. Rural and coastal walks right from the doorstep.
What a lovely place to stay . Peaceful and surrounded by nature .The front patio is a real sun trap not that we needed it as the weather was perfect . Inside the barn was cool which was good for the dogs . The beach is so close with a stream so the dogs dont drink too much sea water . All kitchen facilities were there and it was a welcoming homely place . Usually on holiday we cant wait to get home to use a decent shower or kitchen but not this time . Looking forward to our next stay thank you .
Caroline
We had an amazing stay at Dolwylan Barn. It was a beautiful setting, the cottage was really comfortable, a lovely conversion, and had all the facilities needed for a fortnight.
5star quality property in an excellent location very near the sea. Beautifully presented and particularly liking the attention to focus on sustainability on people and planet before profit and this comes across well. We had a wonderful week at the barn and would highly recommend.
Absolutely stunning barn conversion, away from everything and everyone. We loved the log burner and all the little luxury touches....
Gillian
A great deal of thought has been put into making this a great place for a quiet getaway. The converted barn is stylish and comfortable. It has been recently renovated and there's a wonderful mix of modern facilities, with new and tastefully vintage furniture and accessories. The location is so peaceful, perfect for walks and quiet family time. Do plan ahead in terms of shopping it's quite a drive even for a pint of milk and don't expect a phone signal although there is great wifi. That's exactly what we wanted!
Lovely renovation. We had a very nice time. Lovely walks straight from the barn on the coastal path. The underfloor heating keeps it nice and warm in winter. The EV car charger is a great addition and worked flawlessly for us.
Richard
Fabulous renovation of the barn , great scenery , coastal walks right from your door wifi is good too what a find! , will be coming again. Thank you
Ollie & Becky
A really lovely barn conversion, cosy and stylish throughout with lots of luxury touches. Beautiful location with a secluded feel. Perfect!
Timothy
As good as it gets just maybe little fenced area to keep dogs safe and enclosed ... As good as it gets just maybe little fenced area to keep dogs safe and enclosed just ours would get under the gate other than that perfect going back in the new year
Little mats under shower room sinks to protect beautiful wood floors A microwave. ..We took our pre cooked meals knowing it was isolated but waited ages for oven to heat them Ref books on birds and plants..so much to identify at cottage Lovely location Beautiful quality renovation Holiday offered everything we hoped for
Absolutely gorgeous cottage, even more beautiful than the photos. A for cleanliness. Perfect for 2 people who like peace and quiet.
A microwave would have been so welcome. Although happy to cook, many nights I would have preferred to prepare things faster as there are not huge amount of options in the area to eat out! Decent sized modern wine glasses would also have been a welcome addition. No complaints we loved our week & will stay again
