Gwynfa Reviews

Rebekah
Great stay, lovely and comfortable cottage a home away from home with everything you need. Lots of living space and lovely garden. Safe for our dog inside and out. Jenny was great and made us feel very welcomed.
Cozy clean and comfortable. Wish we had more time
My husband and I took my elderly Mum and her little dog to Gwynfa for one week in September. It was absolutely perfect in every aspect. Jenny was the perfect host, popping by when we first arrived and then leaving us to enjoy our holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade cake and eggs from her chickens, too. The accommodation worked extremely well for our needs with Mum's double bedroom directly across from the bathroom. The downstairs toilet was especially useful. With so much space and several separate seating areas we were very comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean and of a very high standard, nothing to fault. It was a peaceful location with lovely views which is exactly what we wanted and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gwynfa.
The cottage was fantastic, it had everything that we needed, was clean and tidy and was very spacious, the beds were comfortable and everything was easy to use, or explained clearly in the welcome folder. Jenny was very welcoming and made us feel able to contact her for anything, the lemon sponge cake that was there on arrival was amazing! We were unsure if there was a downstairs toilet, as it wasnt clear if there was or not, however there was, which was a bonus! It was clear that Jenny has given a lot of thought and care into ensuring that the cottage is as comfortable to everybody as possible, including little touches, for example the sensor night lights, torch etc. we would highly recommend staying here, thanks again
Fabulous place to stay, great layout, loads of room, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, Jenny makes a great lemon drizzle cake, eggs and milk there for us on arrival. Nothing negative to say about this place. Would love to return and would highly recommend.
Lovely location. Very comfortable .House got everything you need. Thank you for the wine and home made cake.
Gwynfa was a beautiful cottage, in a lovely rural setting. Spotless and very comfortable. We had absolutely everything we needed and more. Jenny, the owner, came to say hello and was available if we needed anything. Her homemade Lemon Drizzle cake was delicious! Would definitely visit again!!
Annette
We had a lovely time at Gwynfa. The cottage was large and furnishings were comfortable. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. We had a problem with the kettle and Jenny came round immediately to replace it. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
Darren
This was the cleanest and most well maintained cottage we have stayed in. Quality of furnishings were excellent too. Highly recommended thank you.
We have just stayed at Gwynfa for a week and we absolutely loved the house and village. We were so looked after by the owner, Jenny, who was very accommodating and friendly her homemade cake was delicious! House was very clean and warm and had everything we needed. Beds were so comfy and inviting, slept like an angel the whole week. Thankfully the weather was on our side and got out each day to explore the area. Would totally recommend this place !
Lyndsey
Gwynfa is lovely cottage in a small quiet village, a perfect place to get away from the hussle and bussle. We arrive to a homemade cake, bottle of wine, milk and eggs. There is plenty of walks around the cottage with scenic views, or plenty to do a short drive away.
Katherine
Owner lovely and keen to make sure we had everything we wanted. Short drive to pubs and shops and Just Eat did deliver! Lovely peaceful location. People in the area were all so friendly!!
Lovely cottage well equipped very comfortable only down side the fence at the ... Lovely cottage well equipped very comfortable only down side the fence at the side was not high enough so we couldn't let the dogs out on there own but I would stay there again
Lovely cottage everything what we wanted there.
Stephen
Excellent accommodation. Very high standard, altogether very nice indeed
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was lovely and spacious. It was very welcoming and very clean. It was extremely well equipped and we wanted for nothing. We loved the cottage feel and the extra bonus was the burning log stove. The wine and eggs were also an added bonus on arrival! Our host was very friendly and was on hand if we needed anything we didn't apart from buy logs off of her. She was very generous with the logs for which we were thankful. The weather was also lovely for the time of year. Would definitely go back some time and would definitely recommend. The village itself is very quiet with not much going on and lends itself to lots of lovely walks around the area exactly what we needed! Wish we could have stayed longer. A perfect base for travelling around Pembrokeshire.
Lovely well equipped and spacious cottage situated within 30 mins of coast and its beautiful beaches. We enjoyed very much our October stay welcomed with wine and cake eggs and milk from the owner a very nice touch. Ideal touring base to explore the coastline. A home from home for our short break. Our second stay in 2 years would recommend.
Excellent house, Lovely welcome pack and beautiful location
Barbara
Gwynfa was a well presented spacious clean cottage,The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and the homemade lemon cake was delicious. The only downside was, you had to go outside the front door to get a phone signal.also there was no wifi.Jenny the owner did phone me the day before to tell me about the wifi problem and told me it was being fixed on the Monday of our stay.unfortunately it could not be fixednot Jenny,s fault.overall I would return to Gwynfa once the communication problems are solved.
Nice central location to explore south Wales from the Pembrokeshire coast to the Brecon Beacons, something for everyone! Jenny was a great host and supplied a welcome pack that was a wonderful surprise. The cottage was immaculate with everything you need for a relaxing holiday a true home from home. The only negative was that the WiFi was not working, a situation that Jenny is addressing immediately by switching service provider! Would definitely recommend to all.
Charlie
Our stay was perfect, Our host was lovely, Beautiful clean spacious cottage, with everything and more, Highly recommend. Thank you for the delicious cake and bottle of Wine. Hope to stay again!
Stephen
Absolutely superb cottage. Excellent facilities, superbly appointed, very comfortable and a very lovely and welcoming owner. Thank you!
We had quite a wet week and it was difficult to dry clothes. It took two days in conservatory to dry a few items so a tumble dryer would have been nice. Nice lady and a comfortable stay.
The cottage was just perfect with the owner Jenny most helpful. On arrival there was a welcome pack including eggs and wine. All in all a lovely holiday package.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location. Quite isolated as there are no amenities in the village. Nearest is Newcastle Emlyn but theres not a lot there either. A coop we could only find one pub that was open, the bunch of grapes. Food was good though. The cottage was very well presented, Jenny was a lovely host who left us eggs, milk, wine and a fabulous homemade cake! There are some beautiful walks from there too. West coast and south coast beaches were fantastic! We had some great weather and went dolphin spotting in New Quay. All in all a great place to have a very relaxed holiday! 1010
Sylvia
A lovely clean cottage with everything you need. Jenny the owner is very kind and friendly and is keen to help in any way she can. Weve stayed there before and can highly recommend her cottage for your next break..
Edward
We had a lovely stay at Gwynfa, the cottage is very clean and spacious and all rooms have been finished to a very high standard. We have a dog and found the rear access to the conservatory very useful to be able to take muddy boots off before going into the kitchen lounge. The location is good and it's not too far to drive to local beaches e.g. Poppit Sands, Aberporth and near to Newcastle Emlyn for shops restaurants etc. We met the owner Jenny a couple of times and she was very helpful with local information such as walk routes and facilities. All in all a great place to stay recommended.
I would like to just sum this holiday up in just a few words as Absolutely fabulous. .. Jenny the cottage was outstanding and you're welcoming gift and smile we're so much appreciated by us both including the doggie
Christine

Debbie
What a stunning cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage had everything you need and more, the attention to detail was amazing. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with a lovely conservatory and garden for sitting in the sunshine. Would love to come back in the winter as it looks so cosy. The best welcome pack with eggs from the owner's chickens and a home made cake! No hesitation at all to recommend this lovely home.
Lovely place to stay, very quiet and ideal for a cosy get away for couples who wants a nice get away. As it's a quiet village hidden in the hills it's not ideal for getting to places for kids unless you want to drive for a hour. Internet is a community based service so its not very fast. All the bedrooms were cosy, 2 toilets and great facilities to wash and bathe. The renter was lovely to talk to and was very helpful. There is a graveyard opposite the house so if you ain't into having that across the road then this is not for you. But this place has a lovely peaceful garden and conservatory and has some breath taking views from the double bedroom. It's a perfect get away from life for a whatever time you want away, but alot of travel is involved if you want a take away. You cannot order just eat or uber eats! So yes it is a perfect get away to get away from everyday life.
Elizabeth
Immaculate, wellfurbished and very comfortable cottage with everything you could wish for. Lovely big conservatory was handy for our dog, and the small garden is very peaceful too. Nice location in a very quiet village very close to the lovely river Teifi and only 25 minutes drive to Cardigan and the spectacular coastline.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was spotless, wellequipped and comfortable. We had plenty of space to relax and the garden was such a sunny spot. The cottage is in a good location and we discovered new beaches and coastal footpaths. We hope to return soon.
A lovely cottage in a nice Quiet village some lovely walks around the village ... A lovely cottage in a nice Quiet village some lovely walks around the village and into the countryside very peaceful I would I would stay in again in the future
Beautiful property great location enjoyed the welcome gifts . Everyone including the dogs enjoyed it . Would highly recommend.
A lovely cottage in a quiet and relaxing village setting. Good quality fittings and furnishings with a well stocked kitchen. A delightful gift of wine, milk, cake and eggs on arrival. The only drawback is that the owner Jenny, who is a helpful and friendly lady, had recently had a bad experience with renters allowing their muddy dogs to badly soil the upstairs carpets and beds, so now dogs are not allowed upstairs at all. If this had been in the cottage description we would have had to go elsewhere as our dogs sleep in crates in our bedroom at home. There is no gate at the bottom of the stairs, tho Jenny says she has one coming, but our dogs had to be shut in the kitchen at night and the young one cried and howled so we took turns in sleeping downstairs on the settee to stop this and prevent complaints from the neighbours. Other than this we thought the local area was amazing. Dog walks from the door, shops, eateries and interesting places in Newcastle Emlyn only 4 miles away and a fantastic dog friendly beach at Newport. Happy to strongly recommend if your dogs are ok sleeping in the kitchen.
Rachel
The cottage was lovely in a nice quiet setting. Garden secure for our dog. Plenty of space for a family of 5. Very well equipped kitchen. The welcome gifts were a nice touch. Plenty of places to visit with easy reach.
Joanne
