54 Pencoed Road Reviews

We were a bit worried before arrival after a negative review appeared in August just before our stay, but on arrival we realised that review is very unfair. The property is very spacious which the pictures don't do justice! Parking on the road but we always managed to find a space and the local residents were friendly. Could always speak to the church beforehand to ask if you could park there? There are some signs of wear and tear but very minor issues, especially for the price. On the whole all spaces very comfortable, well thought out and useful. Shower head needs replacing and a bit of tlc in places, but for the price we were very happy and surprised with how spacious it was. Would come back again!

Second time staying at this property and it does not disappoint. The welcome pack that is left for you when you arrive is a lovely touch. Especially when you leave the milk at home! Could have a cuppa and relax before nipping to the nearby shops. The weather wasnt the best when we arrived and the heating was on making it even more welcoming! The rest of the week was sun sun sun! There is everything you need at this property, lovely and clean and the property is well maintained. Secure garden for the dogs who also enjoyed the break. Owners are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. We will definitely be back!!
We had a really lovely stay at 54 Pencoed Road. The house was bright, clean and cosy, and it felt really welcoming from the moment we arrived. The location couldnt have been better just a short walk to the beach and harbour, which was perfect for walks with the dog and getting some fresh sea air. The house had everything we needed for our stay, and it was great that it worked so well for both the adults, our little one, and the dog. The kitchen was a good size and was well stocked with utensils and crockery. The living room was a comfy spot to relax in the evenings and the garden has a lovely sunny aspect, perfect for when using the hot tub. Unfortunately parking spots in Pencoed Road can be a bit hit and miss but the owners had arranged for us to use the carpark of the small church directly opposite the property so this was never a problem during our stay. All in all, it was a great base for exploring Burry Port and the surrounding area wed definitely come back again!

After months of looking forward to this holiday, it unfortunately fell short of expectations. The house is well laid out, well located, spacious and the furniture is comfortable. It is however, very dirty. The level of grime and dust on the surfaces, the bathrooms, the fireplaces, the blinds, floors and windows was awful. It honestly made my skin crawl, and had it not been for it being the summer holidays with children and there being no alternative options, we would have left. We did leave one day early as we just got to the point where we couldnt stand it any longer. Its clear it is given a quick once over between guests but is in desperate need of a deep clean and spruce up all the walls are scuffed marked, particularly in the kitchen. I had to scrub the shower head to get some of the limescale off to allow more water to come out, due to the little holes being blocked! Dog hair was everywhere to the point of my family sneezing all the time with the dust in the air. I tried to fix this by having a good hoover around this was a mistake the smell of wet musty dog that came from the hoover was absolutely disgusting. There is damage to the hob that has been left sharp and unsuitable for children. There is also damage to the oven. The dishwasher was full on arrival, it had been on but not rinsed so needed further washing to get previous guests stuck on food off. The waste situation is ridiculous. Food, glass, recycling and waste has to be separated. We are fine with this, but you are given a threat to being charged if you dont follow it! The problem is, there are no bins so rubbish has to be left outside for the owners to collect when they check the hot tub. This was supposed to be daily but bags were left multiple times all day. The food waste is stored in a small bin that is designed to be emptied each week but we were not told which day despite being there for two weeks, so it was not emptied and the smell was absolutely rotten. It ended up being too full and I had to try and find a way to cover over additional bags to keep them from being ripped open by animals. There are outdoor games that have been packed away wet and left to go mouldy, something I did not notice until my children were already playing with it! The hot tub is very small and would be a struggle to fit more than two adults. In addition, only 5 of 12 jets work, making it less of a hot tub and more of an outside bath. Be prepared to park away from the house as the neighbours park in front of the house and are not at all friendly. This is not the owners fault but people should be aware, when the neighbours go out, their dog barks, constantly.
A proper home away from home. The communication with the owners was always very quick. Everything was a listed and more. The back yard makes for a lovely outdour additional living space. Only two tiny tip there was only one frying pan and it was a sticky one to boot so that particular item could perhaps use an update. The second one is that the master bedroom could benefit from slightly denser blinds or curtains as the streetlight are on all night. But those are small things, we overall had a great stay!
54 pencoed was such a lovely place to stay! ! It was close to all burry ports amenities. The garden was perfect for dog, lovely and spacious. The hot tub was a real treat. Kitchen very well equipped. Spotlessly clean. With an amazing welcome pack. Even treats for our dog. Everything in this house was well thought out. We had a problem with one of the French doors and Matt was over in minutes to help us fix it. We would like to thank Matt and dawn for having us and we will be back next year
Absolutely loved our stay, Burry Port is just beautiful Would definitely recommend. We were extremely lucky with the weather too. My only complaint was I couldnt open the back bedroom window, and it was so hot
Sowmya
Lovely accommodation and helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend a stay
Daniel
Clean, well appointed house, conveniently located to explore the area. Everything we needed for a relaxing short break, including a hot tub, which was lovely to come back to after a long day. Hosts were very friendly, always on hand, and sorted our only issue within 30 minutes replaced a light bulb. Top accommodation, highly recommended!!
Lovely clean, warm cottage. Great location. Amazing hot tub and garden. Great communication from.owner. Thoughtful welcome gifts left which was a lovely.touch. Only downside, no hanging space in 2 of the bedrooms and our bed, in middle bedroom was not comfortable Overall would definitely recommend and will return. Thank you Pencoed Road
The property was very comfortable, with plenty available to entertain all 6 of us. WE stayed in Burry Port during Storm Darragh, which meant we couldnt get out and about as much as we would have liked the kitchen was very well equipped to allow us to self cater every night. We appreciated the welcome package of coffee, tea, bubbly too. Hot tub was fab. Our dog gave her paws up to the back yardgarden and the doggy treats. Thanks for a great weekend away.
Amazing stay lovely welcome pack great to not have to shop as soon as we got there dog treats what a grandson surprise thanks so much. To take it to an 11 clothing storage in back room would be appreciated just a pain nowhere to store things at all in there but loved the garden big yet not feeling overlooked the dogs were very safe and the small things like books and games made us feel like we didn't have to be out all the time looking for things to do. The hot tub is amazing too. Really can't fault our stay and really looking forward to staying again. The parking can be a bit of a pain but that's only when a neighbour parked me in totally more than once same one did it but other neighbour moved to allow me out with no issues. There's space to be found further up the street if needed. I was here in some bad weather and imaging using the garden in the summer would be amazing.
Denise
A really comfortable stay in this accomodation. Loved that it was only a 10 min walk to the beach, plenty of space to walk with the dog and nice cafes. Hosts were close by which proved really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely keep in mind for a return visit.
Great stay ! Very clean and comfortable near to beaches and all amenities including trains and buses. Lovely place
Wonderful cottage well appointed only 2 things I would change no toilet downstairs dont know where you could put it apart from under the stairs and the handrail on the stairs which has no grip a problem should you stumble on them.
Nicola

Lovely holiday home in beautiful Burry Port would love to go back
Absolutely lovely holiday home. Myself, partner and doggy felt very much at home. Burry Port was lovely too, very friendly people. Pubs, restaurants and a shop very close by. The home was lovely and the hot tub was an added bonus. Very enclosed, large garden for my dog to enjoy. The home had absolutely everything we couldve needed. The recycling system was a bit confusing and a lot to think about whilst relaxing on holiday, however thats nothing to do with the hosts, were just not from Wales so I had to get my head around which items went where.
Josephine
I stay in holiday let's a minimum of 3x a year and this is the first house to have no salt and pepper, cling film or kitchen roll or sandwich boxes. Also no full length hanging space .missing a wardrobe!!. Good location but parking difficult on occasions. Comfortable beds and nice hot tub.
The description on line doesn't do Pencoed Road justice. We were concerned that it wouldn't be big enough, but we were 6 adults and a dog and there was plenty of room for us all. The bedrooms were just the right size, the living room was plenty for us we enjoyed the table football and the garden was more than adequate. The kitchen was also a good size with all the equipment that we could need. The comms from the owners were clear and timely, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
We had a lovely stay at your property. The house and garden was lovely and perfect for a little get away to see family and enjoy the beach. The house had everything we needed for our stay and communication was great. Thank you.
Bethan
We stayed for two nights which just wasn't enough. The house was spotless and had everything we could have have needed and more. Everything was so comfortable, it really felt like home. We thoroughly enjoyed Burry Port, walking on the beach with the dog and having a few drinks in the local pubs. Would definitely return and would highly recommend 54 Pencoed Road to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and conveniently located property to relax in and from which to explore the beautiful local area.
Valerie

Lovely house with everything you need , had some lovely windy walks on the beach, few nice pubs within walking distance, nice chippy on the corner , only one thing it was freezing in there as some of the radiators didnt get hot but we had a very cold and rainy few days other than that it was great , used hot tub on one of the warmer days and had lovely bbq.

Lovely place to stay, close to the town and beach, clean and had everything you need for a fantastic stay.
Beautiful place to stay, extremely comfortable beds and sofas, good job as the weather wasnt great so we spent a lot of time inside. Parking was a little tricky and we couldnt get close to the accommodation but thats not the end of the world. Would definitely return!
Fantastic place to stay. Ideal for our dog who had an enclosed garden. Owners very helpful if we had any issues. Would love to return as couldnt fault the facilities, there was everything to hand, and it was very clean, with the added bonus of the hot tub. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, well appointed home. The owners have thought of everything you need to relax and spend time with your family. We really enjoyed playing the games supplied, using the hot tub and visiting the local area. The welcome items were a nice touch too.
I stayed here late January 2023 for 4 nights, cottage was perfect, clean and ideally located a short walk to local amenities and the beach. My dog cut her paw whilst out walking and local vets were amazing too. The house was cosy and felt like home from home plus a hot tub which was great in evening with glass of Prosecco. A lovely quaint little town. A great escape from london life.
Stephanie
