Awel Y Grug Reviews

Jana
Had wonderful holiday at the cottage. Rooms are lovely, kitchen well equipped, lovely lounge with fire. Welsh cakes and milk on arrival to have a refreshment before unpacking. Great facilities and beautiful garden that was safe and fenced for our small dog to roam in. Wonderful views.
Lucy
We have stayed before and return because it is so quiet and peaceful and we sleep so well. The house is well-equipped for a holiday with plenty of space in the house and a comfortable lounge. The beds are so comfy and we appreciate the little touches like arriving to find a packet of welshcakes and some milk and tea so we can have a mug before we unpack after a long journey! We relax as soon as we walk through the door and the house is very definitely value for money.
Victoria
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, highly recommend. We'll definitely stay again.
Jayne
Very lovely and comfortable cottage ideal to get away, turn off tech and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Our furbaby loved the space outside which was secure for him to wander around and sniff on his own. Lovely securely fenced garden to sit and relax in while our furbaby ran about and enjoyed the freedom of the outside.
Emma
What a lovely cottage in a stunning location. The rooms have everything you need and the beds are really comfortable. The views from the bedrooms are breathtaking, you can lay on the bed and watch the sunset while seeing the view. The bathroom is a good size and the shower perfect. The set up for hot water is spot on and we didnâ??t need any extra time added. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The rooms are bright, light and airy. There is plenty of parking, the garden is large and enclosed, perfect for our Italian greyhound to have a good run around. Jaw dropping views in the garden, take binoculars. Mrs Jones is lovely and very helpful if you need anything. My daughter and I loved it here. I would highly recommend!
Matthew
Excellent cottage and location. So peaceful
Dee
Thanks for a wonderful peaceful week away for it all, and in such pleasant countryside. Although it is by a working farm, it is sufficiently far away not to notice. Within about 7-10 miles of many of the coastal areas such as New Quay, Aberaeron, Llangranog or Aberporth. Boasts three individual bedrooms, all on the ground floor.
Julia
The location of the bungalow was excellent, but the pictures on booking the site did not do it justice as it was beautiful. It was very well equipped and had everything that we needed. The outdoor space was lovely and it was so quiet. Mrs Jones was a very helpful host and was at hand if we needed anything at all. Would really recommend this place and we will be planning on booking again for 2026 as we enjoyed it so much. It was so enjoyable just at times to sit in the garden, and the garden itself was really lovely.
John
Traditional, well equipped bungalow in a very quiet location with a great view of the countryside. Coming from the M4/Carmarthen I found it easier to access the property from the north via the A486 (2 miles of a single track lane) and the property is visible as you approach it, rather than the A475/Pren Gwyn (4 miles of single track lanes) which you could easily overshoot the entrance unless using a sat nav.
Paul
The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and clean and set in a beautiful and peaceful location. Our dog especially enjoyed being able to run around in the enclosed garden. It was well positioned for visiting both coastal and inland locations and the pub in Pen-Gwyn down the road was both convenient, friendly and served delicious, very reasonably priced meals when we didn't want to cook. The milk and Welsh cakes were a welcome touch and the cottage had pretty much everything we required for our stay.
Paul
Great cottage well equipped got everything you need great location just sheep cows and fields perfect for relaxing. Having stayed in the area last year found it quite central for a lot of activities
Alun
Great bungalow with lots of room. This is our second stay and we had an amazing time. The bungalow is equipped with everything you need. A nice welcome with lovely Welsh cakes after a long journey. It is so peaceful and the surroundings are picturesque.
James
Great farm cottage, very thoughtful owners with everything you might need. Fresh flowers, Welsh cakes and milk on arrival. Loved the views , swallows and goldfinches in the garden. Didnâ??t see the owners except arrival and departure but they were very much there if needed. Loved the whole area.Would love to go back.
Neale
We were very pleased with the cottage, in a perfect spot , really spotless , everything we could possible need catered for, what more could we want? Mrs Jones was very helpful and friendly. We will return next year, hopefully.
Christine
A lovely spacious, comfortable cottage with only lambs for neighbours! The owner made us very welcome on arrival and showed us round. Everything was very clean and well presented. A good location for New Quay (dolphin watching) and Dolaucothi gold mine - well worth a visit.
Christine
Our stay was just great. The owner is so kind and caring. The place very quiet with a wonderful view on the landscape. No Wi-Fi = no disturbance = perfect for us.
