Is High Trees Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
High Trees is not designed for children as it sleeps only two guests in one king-size bedroom. The property could accommodate a family with a baby due to its single-level layout. The steep footpath beside the property and limited patio area make it less suitable for active children. The stream running past requires supervision. Better suited as an adult retreat.
For Couples
This cottage is perfect for couples wanting a romantic woodland escape. The king-size bed with blackout blinds ensures restful mornings. Stream sounds create natural ambience. The enclosed patio offers private outdoor dining with a BBQ and sunshade. Two comfortable sofas provide cosy evenings. The secluded woodland setting delivers complete peace while remaining accessible to Carmarthen attractions and the scenic Gwili Railway.
Pet Friendly
High Trees welcomes two dogs with excellent facilities. The owner provides multiple dog towels and throws for muddy paws. A footpath runs right beside the property offering immediate walking access, though it is steep. The enclosed patio gives dogs secure outdoor space. Woodland surroundings provide natural exploration. Good wifi compensates for poor phone signal when researching dog-friendly attractions nearby.

High Trees Reviews

Richard
lovely comfy place to stay right beside a stream . The bed was really comfortable and the blackout blinds helped us to sleep in longer . There is a footpath right beside the property for dog walks but it is quite a steep path . There are no other footpaths nearby . The owner provided plenty of dog towels and throws and a welcome treat of a welsh cream tea with welsh cakes . The phone signal is very poor but has good wifi . It made a great base for exploring carmarthenshire and the black mountains . plus there is a lovely steam railway that runs close by along the river .
Anita
We really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very accomadating and very nice and helpful.High trees was an excellent place for a quiet retreat. Very clean and very well equipped home from home. What an amazing find.We would highly recommend this place. Amazing location so near to so many beautiful places to visit. The steam railway was a short drive away.Seeing lots of diffrent birds ie woodpeckers feeding every day on the bird feeders was a delight. We would highly recommend High trees. We are already planning our next visit to this amazing place.Well done High trees is a credit to the owners Vicky and Mark.
Madeline
Beware that a lot of the footpaths on the OS map have been blocked off locally, although we had a lovely walk straight from the cottage which worked fine. Cottage is lovely and clean and has a generous amount of space but the mobile phone signal and TV signal were non-existent whilst we were there.
Robert
Clean, comfortable well furnished cottage. Ideal base for exploring the area. Pulling off the drive onto the road which has a 50 mph limit can be daunting until I mastered how to reverse onto the drive when parking.
